New owner - planning gas engine replacement
Hey guys, yesterday I got a 2000 Insight that apparently needs a new motor. I haven't had a chance to really dig into it yet but it barely runs, definitely makes some odd noises, and the previous owner said he thinks there is a hole in the block.
In any event, I have another motor to swap in, but it does not have the IMA motor on it so I will need to transfer it over. I tried downloading the manuals from here but had no luck. I'm wondering if any manual would have good information on that anyway, I don't plan on buying the special tool.
Sorry for the long post, basically I am looking for tips/advice on doing a removal and replacement of an Insight engine along with swapping the IMA over without the tool. Do I need to do anything special with the battery/power wire other than flipping the switch in the back? A few people have scared me a bit warning me about possible shock.
