Default Yet another Hot-Air Mod-used resonator hose

I used 2 inch flexible exhaust pipe from Advanced Auto. The issue I ran into was that this pipe was so stiff it was difficult to get under the battery box and connect to the original 90 degree intake hose. So I saw the unused resonator hose had a better ability to bend at a 90 degree angle. Using it I was able to connect to the exhaust pipe. I can post pics if anyone's interested. Otherwise its just like other posts that route around the back of the engine to the cat cover. My IAT are running at 95 degrees and it 40 degrees today. Ill need to get a little tighter fit at the cat, to deal with the coming MI winter...but Im pleased for now.

Cost $12! Nice!

From your description it's hard to tell if you are still using the resonator or not.

Jim.

Yes, I agree and some pics would help.

Default Pics

1st pic is looking from the front of the car. The resonator pipe fits tight over the airbox and then loops 180 degrees to the rear of the car ( it looks pinched against the black box, but it actually slides under a bit)and the resonator slips loosly into the exhaust pipe from Auto Zone. Pipe is 2", bendable exhaust pipe with a coupler on the end. I used this because without the coupler the pipe was a few inches short and would slide around under the battery tray area.

2nd pic from driver fender, you can see the hose slid into the coupler/exhuast pipe udnder the battery tray. Yes, you must pull the tray out, or you may damage some of the wires cabling when trying to route the pipe.

3rd pic shows the passenger side/cat with the end of the pipe resting against the cat shield. Do it doesnt vibrate, the battery tray has a pretty tight hold of the pipe.

My IA temps have been running about 80 degrees with 30 degree outside temps. Up to 110 degrees when its in the 70's. My CVT is getting 63 mpg, and im not that conservative with it. Ill add the rad block once temps drop into the lower 20's.
