Default Turbo kit wanted for my insight

I am trying to find a turbo kit to install on my insight. LHT makes a nice one but they do not sell it outright. You need to take your car to florida and have them install it. I hope someone out in so cal maybe has connections for a turbo kit or someone that can help make the kit.

Exclamation No kit for you...

With all the "tuner" shops here in SoCal, I'm sure you could find a place that could put together a kit for you. All you gotta do is ask or take the first step and research yourself. Google is your friend.

There are 2 threads that have turbo'd Insights as their main focus, check those threads out here on the site for information and some motivation.

As far as I know, since the Insight is such a low volume car, there are no "bolt on turbo" kits available. You have to have a custom turbo setup made.

OK, here you go.

First, if you are in Arcadia Florida, you are near enough to Tampa so it should not be a big deal. John at LHT probably is concerned about car to car differences on a low production car like this, so the cost of install is included in his price and is not sold as a kit.

Alternatively, there is an ongoing thread about Carguy putting together a turbo kit for a customer who wants to go drag racing. It has been active over the last few days, so it is high on the list. So you might check that out, it is nearly finished and while it might have a few more bells and whistles than you need for street driving, it looks well done. He just posted some more nice pics within the last day or so. His target kit price was around $3200, not sure what it actually will end up selling for.

Good luck.

Regards,
Jerry

Here is a link to the Carguy (FWD Performance) and MIUBHI build. If you get a kit, I could only imagine this being the closest to production.
Production Turbo Kit

Here is the build that Willie Williford started in 2003 for his "Little Red Rocket" and it was the first Turbocharged hybrid. He has updated us as time has gone on with details on how it performs and issues that he has come across on the way. A must read.
