Default 2003 Insight shocks and struts

I'm trying to replace my front and rear shocks. The only option I have for replacement parts are the overpriced shocks the dealer sells. Are there any options for aftermarket shocks ? Are there shocks from another vehicle make and model that are compatible.

there are currently no replacement shocks available for the insight. There seems to be ground control coil-over kit as mentioned, but you are still stuck with stock shocks, which are only available at the dealer.

Currently someone is working on a coil-over setup, and also performance shocks as well. Not sure if they would be cheaper or more expensive than dealer shocks.

If you order online, front shocks can be had for about $89 each, while the rears are for $138 each. It will probably cost around $400 to replace all 4. I would wait to see how the development of these aftermarket shocks turns out, and then buy.

I dont understand why the rears are more expensive than the fronts.
