EQ1 The other G1 solution would be the BCM Interceptor.

1) It can fake a higher soc (temporarily on button command if reqd) without overwriting your correct SOC which is stored in the BCM.
2) It can disable background charging or any regen or assist as well if reqd without affecting the SOC in any way IIRC.

I started datalogging with the OBDIIC&C gauge (v0.04), PicAxe cable and the PLX-DAQ/Excel spreadsheet two days ago.
I was delightfully surprised that on the first try of opening the spreadsheet and using the PLX-DAQ "plug in" in Excel to
connect to the gauge, the data started streaming right in and populating the spreadsheet nicely. However, there is one
thing missing from the data in Excel: the +/- sign for Bam (IMA battery amps). I tried toggling the datalogging option on
and off and resetting the gauge with no change.

The main screen on my gauge displays:
Bvo 12V
Bam Ikw
Bte Eld
Soc Afr

Not that it should matter, but my netbook (HP/Compaq MiniNote 2133) is running WinXP, SP3 and Excel 2007.
I use a serial to USB cable between the PicAxe cable and the computer.
My car is a 2006 and many ECM parameters do not work with V 0.04, but
this logging output should be independent of ECM version I would think.

Is leaving one of the eight on-screen parameters blank necessary to get the +/- sign to be logged?

I am looking to recreate graphs similar to Eli's in Data Logging With the OEM Pack to get a fairly accurate picture
of battery health before grid charging.

If anyone has gotten this working with v0.04, please share your wisdom.

Unfortunately the +/- sign is not included in the amps data for any of the current sensor outputs in version 0.4. Looks like I forgot to include it.

I do have an alpha version 0.5 I'm tinkering with which will have that parameter included. I did mention ages ago when I released it that data logging was untested by me in 0.4

Try the attached version. This has two changes from V0.04

1) +/- Sign added to logging output for parameters that use it.
2) Number of keys programmed in ECU in Menu 4. (Please test this)
Should show how many keys the ecu is programmed to recognise.

I guess I need to get a PIC programmer next. Any recommendations on one(s) that work well with the chip in the current gauge?

I actually have read through every post in this thread (I have no life) and seen what programmer(s) others are using. Just wanted to know if anyone has suggestions on which one seems to work best/easiest with the 18F2620 as implemented in the OBDIIC&C.

This one works well. Free PICkit 2 (Windows) and pk2cmd (Mac OS X and Linux) programming software that works with the referenced PIC programmer is available from here.

I use the one Art has mentioned in all my projects. In fact it's pretty much a requirement to have one, as I do not offer chip swaps for program upgrades. I also release lot's of new firmware so if people want the latest functions/bugfixes they have to have one.

iCP01 - USB Microchip PIC Programmer

It's cheap fast and works damn well. I have three, one in my laptop bag for field updates and two in my workshop attached to projects on the bench.

I also use the PICCIRCUIT ICP01- 0V1.1 Programmer through several upgrades of the hex code for the OBDiiC&C Gauge. The PIC programmer software is fairly easy to use and the device is inexpensive and could have utility in other applications. Mike Dabrowski employs the same pic programmer for use with his grid charger 'P1 programmer kit' as seen on his recent youtube video.
