Default Install Advice IMAC&C

All

I have ordered IMAC&C from Peter and he will be installing the IPU parts.

I need to install the cable between the Battery compartment and the passenger footwell. I think I read that the cables continue onto other parts also?

Any advice/photos from those of you who have already done it?

Richard

My Install using Cat5e. Dont use it, its a bit bulky and solid core isnt great to keep bending or indeed solder. I went to Maplins instore and its much nicer to see stuff before you buy. They have some very nice multicore flat cables far better for this application.

Connections made at the ECM for the various engine Parameters required by C&C. MAP, TPS & VSS. The wire sticking out is the shield earth, I did never bother earthing that.

Routed to the IPU under the centre trim between the seats. I took the passenger seat out aswell to gain access/learn about the car. Its a suprising amount that needs to come out of the car but then its probably best to minimise the cable routes length.

Two cables, one goes to the ECM floor wiring as shown and the other is split to the right of the stero so that 8 wires inside the core of the cable : 3 are for the switch and 3 for the LCD.

Screen holder designed using some pictures on surfaces in CAD for rough curve estimates.

Fitted. Need a new one now for the OBDII to go there and relocate the C&C screen!

Thanks for the images and the details.

So in reality the 12 cores are:

4 cores from the IPU compartment to the pasenger footwell (2spares)
3 cores from the IPU compartment to the LCD
3 cores from the IPU compartment to the switch

Only 6 cores (2 spares) need to goto the footwell and the others could go direct to the chosen location of the LCD and the Switch?

Just trying to get this right in my head...

I'm on the 05:38 train from my local station tomorrow to pick up the car!
