Nice pics Peter.

What was the condition of the engine that head came off of?

The exhaust valves look a tad ghostly.

Unknown think it was alright running until crashed . Head had been off at some stage though.
I might make a YT video showing indexed plugs being torqued into position as it's off.

Peter,

Thanks for posting.

I too would be interested in seeing the torqued in place spark plugs.

Do you intend to modify / experiment with the head in any way?

Thank you

Trevor

Well...thank you for taking the time to show properly indexed plugs from the inside.

If you did have the time, have you seen anything in the cylinder head that could bare improvement?

I just sold a 1992 Suzuki Swift (Metro XFI) 1 liter - 3 cylinder that benefited from Singh grooves. That head however was a two valve design. Main benefit was increased torque. But may have also improved fuel consumption slightly too. I was able to get 60 mpg (US) at 60 mph but no more (after a lot of trying).

I was talking to my parents in Cirencester this past weekend. They stated Gas is now 1.40 GBP a liter in the UK.

I would think when it is time to retire Insights you'll move on to all electric?

Default Importance of Indexed Sparkplugs Video.

Honda Insight G1 Indexed Spark Plug Insertion & Torque Demo - YouTube

Inserting and torqueing B plug into B head.

I'll try a find a generic cheapo plug and see where that ends up when inserted.

Nicely done on the video, really shows how this plug perfectly aligns to the intake valve!

The Insight plug has an unusual 25mm reach and my garage chum didn't have anything with that length thread in stock so I can't do a non indexed comparison.

Here a useful snippet.

That diagram is interesting, but it's for a 2-cycle engine. Wonder if anything talking about plug indexing on our engines exists. IamIan? lol
