Default Use of Cat to Intake Snorkel Modification

I need some help. I know it's been discussed but I searched diligently and could not find the subject discussed. (One problem is that archive has gotten so large that there is a tremendous amount of sifting to find anything.) Can someone point me to the threads?

The theory of course is that running a tube from the intake snorkel back to the first catalytic will get to faster warmups and better cold weather efficiency. I am wondering if it has actually been tested and across what range of ambient temperatures. Also, is it something to improve mpg on long winter trips, or does it become counterproductive once everything is thoroughly up to temperature?

Help please

Well, see, 1630 is a problem. I kinda figured someone like Eli would know where the good threads were hidden. I did that search and came up with that number of hits, but how is anyone supposed to get through screening that much material. It isn't that I didn't try

Thanks Eli. Those threads are very useful, but not sure I'd ever have found them without the pointer.

Here's a link that was posted with others in the 'extreme cold' driving thread a day ago. Click forward and back a few pics at the link and maybe the descriptive text will help.

Buried in the archives somewhere it says some guy found 110F to be the max intake temp beyond which there are no more gains.
