Oh, ok. I checked the wiring, its fairly tight under there with no roomfor any slack.

Wonder if engaging the valve close feature to reduce pumping losses would really help with any savings?

Since I got a phev kit, I could use ev mode more frequently, however its hard to maintain.

An idea I had was to cut off 2 cylinders and make it a 2 cylinder. Unless of course too much vibration.

Guess I need to trace the loom and see where it connects and what I can tap at that point?

I don't see grid charging in your list of mods. Have you tried that yet?

Good news on the assist capabilities whilst the injectors are off. 2 miles? More than I thought.

This is a full assist test that uhtrinity posted a couple years ago. He had a MIMA and I think a buddy pack. I was always wondering if it could be achieved without a MIMA. Cutting the injectors and pressing the gas pedal may be the way to go.

OK, so I got my injector interrupter relay going and it works! I can achieve a somewhat limited EV mode as well.

2 problems though. My battery meter was showing about 17 bars when I started testing. I got things warmed up and pushed the button and gently pressed the throttle. I got assist but only for about 6 seconds then it gave up. I had to cycle the ignition to reset and get assist again. The next time I tried I pulsed the injectors for a second every 5 seconds and I could get uninterrupted assist for about a mile but then my pack did a negative recal. I wonder if the assist gave out because the pack voltage was too low in the first place.

The other problem is the FCD. Since I'm pressing on the throttle it thinks gas is passing through the system and I think this is going to bring my "displayed" average down so... I need a MIMA, first I need to win the lottery.

Thanks for testing. I want to make it go all off on the injectors. Then where I have 2 cylinders.

The MID is already off, its what I pay at the pump that really counts.

You got a 4-1 cylinder?

How about making it a 1 cylinder?

Nothing like having 3+1 cylinders.

It is a 4 cylinder. He has an 2nd gen Insight. I think he is just trying to gather some data from the gen 1 folks.

I have experienced the same thing when running out of gas. It only gives a bit of assist then gives up. I wonder what it checks for.

its pretty good you were able to get more than 5 miles in ev. When I did the test some time ago, I was able to get 1 mile max before it did a recal. Do you have a new or betterbattery?
