Testing out the Battery Warmer..

I forgot to take a picture of it before putting the battery back in.

I have a temperature probe at the top center of the pack and one at the bottom center. Currently things are 62F on the bottom and 40F on the top.... I was kinda afraid of that. I don't think it's going to work very well, but we'll give it a few hours to equalize and see what happens.

I don't want the bottom cells to be toasty while the top are still cold.

You could try this cheaper with a propagation mat:

This would be something you just plugged in when you got home and left plugged in all night, I guess

What happened to the 200 watt heater you were going to plumb into the cooling system of the ipu?

I still plan on trying it. This was just easy.

Um... yeah, this isn't going to work.. lol. Bottom temp probe is 105F and top is still 40F. Exactly what I thought would happen.

Using warm air will work much better I think, more even heat.

Why not just leave the balancer plugged in? Its about 30 degrees outside and while I am balancing my pack my blower is switching from low to high as its approaching "done".

Because overcharging the cells isn't an appropriate way to warm them.
