On those temp sensors, I would split them out as they are normally wired. A common leg, with each sensor having its own dedicated signal line. Better yet use real sensors instead of resistors. The only other thing, double check and make sure you don't have an open signal line. The PTC and sensor wiring is pretty simple.

Hey everyone,

to cover a couple thinkgs... I am using a 82 ohms resistor 1% on the ptc strip sensor input

I've used 4 10k 1% resistors wired in exactly how the oem honda temp sensors are wired.. battery temp is always 25 degrees... I don't want to use oem sensor becuase when the ambiant temp is cooler here it starts to reduce the current output & regen limit of the ima motor. I realize the importance of keeping them, but this is not on top of the list right now..

the 4 10k resistors are wired in exactly as you discribed.

thanks

P1444 is high voltage short circuit nothing to do with temp sensors.

P1449 can be four different issues.

You must read the blink codes to get the exact fault/s otherwise we are just guessing.

I believe i know what you mean to check this error, i just have to short a plug near ecu and that flashed the check engine light for the code.. I'll get back to you on it...

the pack breaker is installed at the 25s2p point of the pack .. splitting the pack at 50/50 voltage wise..

I'll report back with more info asap..

thanks again.

Further update ...

So after almost a week, i got the couple error that haunted me earlier
... He is some more detailed info on my particular error based on the ima blink codes

P1648 (64) which means
(battery condition monitor (bcm) module communication signal circuit problem)

Possible bcm interceptor problem??

P1449 (74) battery module voltage input deviation

Possible bcm fooler error? Maybe the 1% resistors i used are not within 1% during cold weather??

P1444 (59) high voltage short

Have no idea on this error, however i usually will get p1444 error first the if i keep driving the p1449 error will show..

Any ideas? Recomendations?

Ive cleared the errors again*** cars running fine, question how long will it be before it comes up as ima error?

I have changed the 4 thermistors with 10k 1% resistors to trick temp constantly at 25 degress, and the ptc strip sensor is 82ohms 1% value since i changed them earlier this week after i had the p1648 error last week

I couldn't find references at first to the P1444 either. Code is for 00-04 cars; good news is for later cars a P0AA6 flash code [59] cross refs I hope that helps.

edit: see page 114 of ima systems pdf in the repair manual for info.

Thanks

Another update

My car recently got the p1648 error sub code 64 " communication error between bcm and mcm"

Ive done the troubleshooting pdf for the p1648 error which involved checking the exact same wires that are feed between the mcm and bcm, i also learned its the same 2 wires the bcm interceptor uses to trick soc. turn out all my wiring is fine, and im at the last step in the troubleshooting manual which is to try a different mcm and bcm

So i have changed the mcm and bcm with the spare set i have. If the error comes back again, it can only be a problem with the bcm interceptor, ill keep you guys updated

Thanks for everones feedback and helpImageUploadedByAG Free1355179185.340119.jpg

You built your own BCM interceptor i think?
I can send you another if reqd if I have any spare boards.

All i can say is it should work fine, mine hasn't missed a beat since I installed it months ago and it uses the same principles as the older device i used which has been working for over two years.

Check your board for bad connections or solder joints.

If you clear the error does it come back straight away or is it intermitent?
If the fault is intermitent then it points to a wiring problem or some similiar issue.

Please post some large good quality close pics of both sides of you MINI BCM INTERCEPTOR board.

Steveo,

I have not examined the BCM, so I don't know this for sure, but I would think that the issue is not resistor tolerance.

Honda's resistors have got to drift just as much as your 1% resistors in cold weather, and the drift should be in the same direction as your's as well.

After all, your metal film 1% resistors would theoretically be the same as Honda's metal film resistors from an operation point of view.

Jim.
