You might try the weatherstripping spray from 3M. The yellow stuff. They use it mainly for headliners.

These ones are adjust forward and backwards, and recline, nothing else. Ive owned a couple mitsu evos and knew they fit me perfectly. Easilly the most comfortable seats Ive had. I did put mitsubishi eclipse seats in one of my other insights that had adjustable lumbar and height as well, but weighed more than these do, and weren't leather.

Default How hard to bolt in?

Neoloner,

How hard was it to modify the mounting points for those Evolution seats? I would love to see how much some gently used cloth versions would cost me and if they require some welding to fit.

It was a bit of a pia to do it right, I ended up using the front mounts of the evolution brackets, rotated slightly, and then ground out the rivets and weld on the insight seats rear mount, took them off and attached them to the rails on the evolution seats. Both seats probably took me 3 hours to get mounted up right

Just a follow up on a seat idea. I installed the seats from a Nissan 370Z. The manual seats are very lightweight (same as the Insight seat), have adjustable headrest and the seat bottom adjusts both front and back for height.

I mounted them as low as possible and am very happy with the fit. My head is about 1.5 inches lower than the stock seat and the comfort is hugely improved.

Cheers, Mark.
Mark, how did you fix the seat belts? Do the 370Z seats have a possibility to fix the seat belts on them like the OEM insight seats do?

Yes. On the inboard side the 370Z seat has the receptacle bolted to the seat. The Honda on goes nicely in the same place with a little trimming of the plastic. On the outboard side there is an unused hole in the seat frame that I used to bolt the anchor point. The hole is well positioned to give a good angle on the seat belt and is also in the main part of the seat frame so should be strong enough. Also, a little trimming of the plastic allows a good clean fit.

Just trimmed the plastic on the 370Z seat trim to allow the belt and buckle to attach cleanly. All fits pretty well and functions perfectly.
