Default Upgraded seats

Hi,

Just a follow up on a seat idea. I installed the seats from a Nissan 370Z. The manual seats are very lightweight (same as the Insight seat), have adjustable headrest and the seat bottom adjusts both front and back for height.

I mounted them as low as possible and am very happy with the fit. My head is about 1.5 inches lower than the stock seat and the comfort is hugely improved.

It was a bit of a task. Took about 8 hours to do the drivers side. Passenger side should be a lot quicker now that I have the plan. Basically put a bar between the front and rear rails so that I could match the stock Honda mounting points. The rails on the 370Z seat were about 1.5 inches wider than stock. I used the inboard front mounting point as reference and matched the others to fit.

So, great improvement in comfort, similar weight and for me being 6'2" was happy to find the lower seating position significantly improves my ride comfort. Less roll and pitch with the lower seat height.

Now if I could just fit that heated/cooled fully adjustable Recaro seat in the same space!!

Cheers, Mark.

Are these seats any wider (outside measurements) than the stock seats? How much/where did you get the seats?

They are only fractionally wider... about 0.5 inch. I am lucky to be able to do my car work at a race shop and they were building a 370Z race car. These came out the donor car. Same seat as in the 350Z and I saw a bunch on Ebay as I looked around figuring out prices.

Nice. Those look great. Are they by chance heated? Any adjustable lumbar?

Neloner are they wider than stock, and do they weight more than the stock seats?

Mkeeton your seats look like the seat bottom is more tilted higher in the front than stock, is that correct?

Yes, I put the back of the seat as close to the floor as possible. The seat adjusts both front and back for height so I figured lower was better for my height. My wife who is 5'4" can also fit just fine by winding the back of the seat bottom up.

My drivers side seat has a broken 'ear' (left hand leg support), where the foam ear is actually seperated from the main foam part.

Does anybody know of a foam glue that I can use to reattach it?
