How is the cockpit opened? If there is an external cockpit handle does it stick out into the flow or is it flush?

There is an interior release mechanism with an external pair of catches too.

Should Andy or us be unable to release the hatch (red part) for any reason we can remove the hatch surround (green part) using simple hand tools.
