Default Installing component speakers in doors?

I just bought a pair of Kenwood Excelon component speakers to replace the Eclipse triaxials the prev. owner put in (and which sound like cardboard tubes, imho). The mid is a 6-1/2" with a neodymium magnet (so lower profile - should fit no problem).

Question is, where & how should I install the crossovers and tweeters? Obviously I need to cut a hole for the tweeters - any recommendations on where to put it? One suggestion I heard was to not put them too far from the mid so the sound sources don't get too spread out - makes some sense. On the other hand, it's good to have the tweeters pointing more up so you hear them better. Suppose I could do some kind of pods, but I'm less in love with the idea because it makes them more conspicuous. I guess the most important thing is not to put them on top of some critical in-door component.

Any recommendations on how to make the hole?

Any recommendations on where and how to mount the crossover?

They should sound great with my (soon to arrive) shoebox sub and 4-channel amp!

use a drill, then sand it to smooth it out you may want to touch up paint it black around the edge. Put it near the door handle closer to the dash. then tape it and make a cool little fiberglass shell so it comes out and angles

Fortunately (since I don't know how to make things out of fiberglass) it turns out the tweeters rotate, so it's only a matter of positioning them. Also they don't stick very far into the doors, so that shouldn't be a problem.

I've seen them put near the woofer with a hole just drilled in to the door panel (expensive to replace if something goes wrong). The litle black plastic triangle above the rest of the door panel comes off independently (just pull) and would make a good place to mount them with a little work assuming there's enough room there to do so.

I have my tweeters in the triangular trim panel where the wing mirrors are.

The cross overs fit between the door trim & the inner skin of the door, low down, about half way along. I attached using self tappers into some small plastic gommets to avoid electrolytic corrosion.
