Today, I received in un-opened boxes, Honda Insight floor mats for my 2004 CVT. The driver side bo DID NOT CONTAIN the fastening bolt (or grommet) that I have heard about.
Does anybody know the Honda Part number for it? I saw it posted here somewhere, and have searched and searched but can not seem to find the post which contains the part number.
By the way, I got floor mats thrown-in from the dealer. The first set they sent me were the part number for 2000-2003 floor mats, and were Gray. I told them they were the wrong ones. I called Honda and got the part numbers for the 2004 floor mats (they matched what http://www.hondaaccessories.com) had for the 2004 floor mat part number. As I said, received them fresh in the box today .... and they were also Gray (with no bolt/fastner/gromet on the driver side).
I can't detect any difference in 2000-2003 and 2004 floor mats.
Anybody know the part number for the grommet/fastener/bolt on the drivers side?
Edited Note: I called Honda to verify the part number I found on the web site mentioned below, and it is an invalid part number. Also, they were unable to give me a valid part number. Good grief!
When i got my '00 insight used.. it had no floor mat anchor and the first thing i noticed while driving is the floor mat sliding up under the pedals, so i ordered the anchor from my dealer.
P/N: 08P15S3Y100R1
Cost: $9.76
Installation: Easily installed in about 30 seconds with a sharp knife, a phillips head screw driver, and a strong thumb. Good luck!
I received my floormats (from a third party) and they didn't include the nipple.
I dropped into my friendly Honda Parts area. They ordered a HONDA set of mats with the idea of just getting the plastic holder. The mats came in and sure enuf, the plastic doohicky was not included.
They finally just ordered one (actually 1/2 doz). Charged me nothing.
My problem now is that the mat won't stay on the nipple. I've drilled the nipple and added a catch pin on top. I suspect there is a keeper of some kind that must press on top...but I was not going to try go thru explaining THAT to the parts guys.

Plastic??
Mine is a (solid) metal holder that screws into the floorboard. Let me know if you would like a picture - I can snap one and put it up on my website for you to see. http://www.littlebluespitfire.com/gallery/Insight

My floor mat kept sliding up under the clutch, so I was looking for a solution, so of came here first, of course.
I thought about just finding a very short bungee cord to hook onto the grommet on the floor mat and hooking the other end to the hole under the seat, but I thought, "What the heck? Maybe the dealer will have something."
So, I call Trickett Honda in Goodlettsville, TN, and tell them what I'm looking for, and they say "yeah, we have that piece in stock, and it's only a couple of bucks." I leave immediately and get there 10 minutes later, the parts guy remembers talking to me on the phone, and he GAVE it to me for FREE, and then one of the service guys installed it for me, also for FREE.
So, I know you guys don't normally like going to the dealers, but I have to say, Trickett so far has been great, and they just earned lots of brownie points with me for not making me pay for any of that.
I don't know the part number, but for others looking, the dealer should know what it's called.
Hi All,
Going to the dealer tomorrow to pick up my floor mats, I guess we'll see what's in the box. They ordered them for free with the car which was very nice of them. Thanks for the part number just in case... Jack
