Default Speakers

Some mod pages here recommend the Eclipse 8263 speakers as replacement speakers for the (mediocre at best) speakers that come in the car. That model appears to not exist anymore, or at least I can't find any mention of it anywhere. What current model speakers work with the Insight without modification? Are ther still any Eclipse speakers that work?

Thanks.

Eclipse 8363 were a drop in replacement on my 2000. I got them new on eBay for $55 plus shipping. They have made a tremendous difference in sound quality, and I can recommend them without hesitation. I got a Honda speaker adapter set at Circuit City so I didn't have to cut any wires. I can't remember what I paid for the adapter kit, but it wasn't much.

If you go to crutchfield.com, you can put in your year, make and model and they will show you what they have for drop in replacements. I just did a quick search and they show 5 different ones for the front door. $50-$80.
Don't know any more than that.
Let us know what you end up with. I'll probably want to change mine eventually.

I had the Infinity REF6002SI's in my old car, and they performed extremely well, should do the same in the insight. Check a set out at a store and you'll see.
