I did mine a couple of weeks ago, and I had printed out the instructions and looked over the excellent page on Figgy's website. http://insight.fungiart.com/pollenfilterhowto.html

I didn't remove any of the center console stuff and it went fine. You will need the 10mm open end wrench and a little bit of fooling around, but it only took about 15-20 minutes and was easier than I thought it would be.
Mine had never been done before as I had to cut the plastic piece out, but although I was a little apprehensive about it, it was pretty much a piece of cake.
Good luck with it.

Yeah, those were the instruction I had printed as well. This is also my first time in over two years and 56,000 miles of ownership. The filter should look yummy!!

How much did you pay?

Justin

The hex head bolt on the left side is very hard to put back in if you take it out all the way. I suggest that you back it out almost all the way and rotate the cross bar down. There is a bend/nub in the cross bar that fits into the piece behind it, so you have to pull it away from the piece that is behind it. Just keep backing out the bolt and keep trying to seperate and rotate the cross bar until it is free.

I got mine from http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/ for $15.95. They charge a $4.95 handling charge plus shipping so your best bet would be to get more than just one thing. If you only want to purchase the filter, you should give your local dealer a call and ask them how much they charge for it. It may be about the same total cost without the wait.

I tried to order mine from H and A, but couldn't find a way to pay them with a credit card. I tried calling them and that didn't help. I finnaly went to Kragen and they ordered me one for less then $17.

I've purchased aftermarket filters a couple of times, and I won't do it again unless the quality comes up a little. The last aftermarket I bought was a Fram, it only had about half the pleats the Honda filter has. Fewer pleats = less filter area. There is more than one online retailer, and they do take credit cards....

http://www.handa-accessories.com/insight.html http://www.manhonda.com/ http://www.slhondaparts.com/ https://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/au ... isplay.jsp to name a few. I think I got my last filters from the second link - Manchester Honda.
