Default HHHHORN

aloha,

i'm looking to replace the stock horn with a stupid sounding "low-tone" horn i found at low cost. how fun. anyway, trying to figure out where the horn IS turned out to be pretty tricky. i had a few friends lookin' around under there trying to find it, but mostly everyone just got angry. i asked the honda service people about it and they didn't seem to want to help me with that. so if anyone knows how to get to this elusive component i'd be happy to hear about it. thanks!

You have to take off the front bumper to access the horn.

I'm confused as to why you want to replace the horn. How often does one really use their car horn anyway?

It is not a matter of how often the horn is used, but rather the effectiveness of it's operation when you need to use it. A loud horn is a must when someone on the highway tries to change lanes into you without looking. This has happened to me a few times. A couple of times the other driver did not even hear the stock quiet honda beep and almost caused some serious carnage. I have a FIAMM Freeway Blaster low note horn sitting here. One of these days I will get around to installing it.

I have 3 in my car. A air horn in the back where the mufler was, a klaxon up front and the regular horn. I put a foot pedal shift to activate the non standard horns. Easy to remove at a later time if needed. Have fun, Rick

I have 2 and this second horn has served my right many times. You can see a part of it in front of my radiator with the winter radiator block picture:

I've been driving over 30 years and maybe used a car horn once.

Default Need of a horn.

I put 2 extra loud horns in my insight. One high tone and one low tone. I did this after 3 different SUVs tried to run me off the interstate at night. They just did not seem to hear the little tweeter of a horn that I had in it. I work at night and have to drive through Atlanta to get home. The next time, a truck tried to swithch lanes on top of me and my new horns really got his attention.
