Default 16" x 7" OZ Wheels..What's the Largest on an Insig

What is the largest wheel that someone has put on the Insight? There was a blue Insight with chrome wheels. What size were those...how about the tires?

I have a sponsorship from OZ and I need to decide. They suggest a 16x7 with 42mm offset. The stock offset is 45mm. Please help.

Yes that rim will fit, but when you add 205 wide tires some may rub the spats. The 16" tire sizes that SHOULD fit an Insight would be:

195/45R16
The best tires available in this size are:
Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3
Toyo T1R

But couldnt I put a 17" by 7" and a lower pro tire(194/40R17) and have the same clearance?

The question here is that you are setting the exteriour curve of the tire farther from the axel, I have no idea what this will do to clearance. The place where clearance is is moving farther from the middle. The tires you would have are more sqare than round. Dont know here.

The smallest tire they seem to make for 17" rims are:
205/40R17
These tires have a diameter that is 1" larger in diameter then the OEM size. These larger tires might rub the front fender and the rear spat.

If you are willing to try, good luck!
