Default Installing the MIMA harness

Calpod and others waiting to cut wires.
I can put together a parts list and the harness connections sheet for the connection to the car. If one of you wanted to buy some ribbon cable and connectors, and sell them to anyone that wanted to get the harness connections ready so that when the MIMA boards are ready you can just plug in and go, I will be happy to do it. If no one wants to run with it, you will just have to wait for me. A simple jumper plug in the new harness tap will let the car run normaly. Let me know if anyone is interested, and I will get the documentation ready by tomorrow evening.
Thay could get the ball rolling.

Thanks Mike, please send me or post the information, i'd like to get started on it.

I want to mount the joystick, I have some approximate measurements based on the picture on your website, I'd like to know the bolt pattern dimensions so I can start making a mounting fixture.

Calpod
The pc cards will need to be layed out before the hole pattern and cavity dimensions can be finaly pinned down. I hope this week. To further take some of the load off of me, If someone with good electrical skills that has a service manual wanted to take a first pass at the harness connection instructions as well as putting together some harness kits, it would be a big help. The IDC ribbon connector is easy to install, just a small vice is needed, and the ribbon can be purchaced in 25-100 foot lengths. The instructions need to copy the MCM and ECM connector photos, reverse them so it is easy to identify the pins that are effected, describe the ring out technique, show how to make the cuts and splices, and the attachment of the jumper plug that lets the car work without the MIMA board. Instructions and photos for running and connecting the two multy conductor cables that go to the front ECM,(TPS,MAP,VSS) and the rear cable for the MCM , battery fan, the MPI fan, the battery temp probe and MPI temp probe .
I have some photos from Nemystic's install, and my own install that I could send.

I have started putting instalation related photos together on my MIMA Installation page @
http://pages.cthome.net/genesisone/mima ... lation.htm
I will be updating that page as I proceed with my install and testing.
Your feedback will help me give you what you need for install, I know some of you need only a schematic, others will appreciate the more detailed info.
The circuit page now has the harness interconect data, a full schematic of the MIMA_C board, display board, joystick board, and Temp monitor board.
I will probably copy the electrical service manual connector pinout drawings to the install page soon for those that do not have a manual.

The schematics are big since I needed to use JPG, and have enough resolution for you to see the writing.(do not have a PDF maker), so be patient if you have a dial up.

If you send me the files I can convert to pdf for you--either send the pspice files, or, more convenient, or use "print to file" with a postscript printer and send me the .prn or .ps files

I downloaded a program that was suggested buy a IC group member that allows me to print to a PDF converter program from any windows application. It works great. All the schematics are full resolution PDF files, including the new harness interconnect schematic.

the files are all smaller than the smallest JPG was before. Cool.

Your welcome thank You

[moderator edit to prevent un necessary thread "bump" up the list]

For those interested in the MIMA project or those still wondering what it is the threads have become too fragmented for the developer to maintain and he has requested that his other MIMA threads be locked.

Please understand that any further suggestions for design changes will not be honored since the process is too far along. However, since its *opertation* can be easily modded in software such limited opinions will be welcome.

A few of the old threads that will most likely answer all your questions are here:

The developers site is here:

Its a complex topic and modification. And one that should be carefully reviewed if your deciding on purchase. The purchase thread is here:

http://www.insightcentral.net/forum/vie ... 9&start=15

The subject is still open for discussion at the developers selected for consolidation thread here:

Locking other threads. Future MIMA threads will be locked and follow-up's directed to the thread above.
