Default Silly Alternative AC

just occured to me recently that it might be less energy from the car and therefor better MPG to change the way the AC works in the Insight.

Some of my ideas so far are:

modify this Vest to be a seat cover and run the AC to it.

or Use a Cooler with ice in it like this one to put the cold air where it matters most on me.

or maybe do this with a powered cooler that can run from the 12V to make the ice last longer and give me cool air from the fully charged battery back instead of pulling power from the drive engine:

My Silly is all.

A small spray bottle and a few sprits works well. Keep in mind that you do not want to overheat the batteries though.

Or if you want to get a little more elaborate, get a spray mist nozzle from the garden shop, and a 12V aquarium (windshield washer?) pump, Hook up some tubing from a large bottle, and a rheostat to control the pump speed...

How about this shirt to keep you cool instead of using the AC. I may actually try this on my mail route. http://www.coolshirt.net/KwikKool.htm
