The 120/120 club
My 2005 Insight really likes this hot weather. Yesterday I had to make a trip south to Pendleton, OR and back. It was 120.8 miles round trip, and I averaged 120.6 MPG!! There was no wind, and ambient temp was 95 F. On this route there is a long freeway climb (8 miles). I climbed at 44 mph in 3rd gear, in order to NOT use assist. Therefore, at the top of the hill my SOC was still full, so I just shut the engine off (FAS) for the descent. This is an example of the benefit of lots of air in the tires -- the car really rolls a LONG ways....
I don't drive quite this extreme, unless I'm trying to see some astronomical mpg figure on the display.
