Doing a search for "reset lmpg" brought up this....

Resetting the Lifetime Fuel Mileage Display
by Motty82 on Mon Mar 31, 2003 12:01 am

Macwarrior,
I too bought my Insight used and wanted the display to show only my achievements.

To reset the Lifetime Fuel Mileage display,
1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
- If the engine is running, put the transmission in neutral and set the parking brake.
2. Press the Trip button to display the odometer. Then press and hold the Trip button until the Lifetime Fuel Mileage Display starts to blink (approximately 5 seconds).
3. Release the Trip button, and press it again while the display is blinking. (Hold it until the display clears to dashes.

Your Lifetime Fuel Mileage Display is reset at this point.

What about when you do something like get your car inspected, which I did today. They need to know how many miles are on the car. Are the lifetime miles still on the display somewhere?

It doesn't reset the odometer, just the LMPG.
