Default Scan Gauge II vs Auterra (Palm) comparison

Want to pick up a diagnostic tool like the Scan Gauge II or the Auterra adaptation for the Palm Pilot ( I have one kicking around.) Has any one had experience with both? The Scan Gauge II is cheaper than the adaptation for the Palm and looks like it would mount easier. Does the Auterra cable and software system give you more information?

Thanks

I bought a scanguage II, but haven't hooked it up in my Insight yet. It's worth the price just to be able to read and clear trouble codes. I've used mine in my Civic HX. It gives me fuel mileage, trips, temp, gph, plus a bunch of other stuff. Gonna use mine to help keep me in lean burn. PLus you can easily move it from vehicle to vehicle.

I have the Auterra SPD. Mainly use it to monitor AFR.
I set the alarm lights to come on green for lean burn and red for out of lean burn.
So its easier to view instead of looking at numbers or a gauge as it tends to
pop in and out of lean burn depending on throttle pressure under certain
conditions such as going up a small hill.

Also used it for trouble codes.

They list for $379. I bought one used oneBay for $300.

Scanguage are about half that price but more difficult to monitor
without the alarm lights.
