Default Worth replacing a warped underbody panel?

One of the panels underneath the engine (the one you remove to get to the oil drain valve) is warped and bows out much lower than the other one.

I'm wondering how much (if any) that would effect MPG. It is definitely allowing road grime to get into the lower area of the engine so I'm thinking of replacing it for that reason alone.

Lastly, I was having trouble finding it on Majestic. What subsection would I find it in?

Hi Varak,

I have my front aluminum panels off the car right now.

I can say that my panels were also 'bent' but not from the panel itself being dis-formed, but rather from the front bumper being displaced by the previous owner hitting a curb stop or something similar.

Since the bumper was moved, it then caused stress on the aluminum panel, which had no other option, but to bow downwards due to the stress.

I am replacing my aluminum/plastic panels under the engine areas with a single foam board/fiberglass panel, which is almost done.

If you can't get a aluminum panel from any other source, then PM me and we can work something out. I am not on the forum to make money, but can help out those in a pinch.

Jim.

The one on the oil pan side goes first. I think it is from the heat.

Looks like the three panels are items 9,12 and 17 from Majestic as shown here:

Honda Automotive Parts

It was hard to find but it is under the front fender section. Item 9 is the front aluminum cover and items 12 and 17 are the left and right plastic covers.
