Default 70.2 MPG Personal best!!

That's right .. since I got the Ultra Gauge I can get into lean burn much more efficiently.

I don't see me putting up big numbers like some of you do .. no patience for that .. but I'm still very impressed with myself.

Here is my Ultra Gauge settings.

And my proof

Oh, it's too late. You're addicted.

Next it will be 70.2MPG over 427 miles.

Then it will be 80MPG over 800 miles.

Well .. I do want to hit one 80mpg trip to work .. just for bragging rights. I have some "things" I want to do to the Insight before I try that .. you know .. all the easy stuff.

I don't seem to mind driving very slow to work .. but after work I drive way to fast to do get that kind of mpg over a whole tank .. that could change but I really am super happy with the 55-60mpg I get flying down the highway.

I seem stuck in the 80s on a full tank basis, so my current goal is a 90+MPG tank. Of course, 100+MPG would be amazing, but.. baby steps.

We're probably going to be taking a road trip this fall, and will be taking the car with all the mods, so I'm hopeful after the 86MPG tank a few weeks ago in the 445k mile car, which is completely stock.

It really bugs me that my commute to work is so short. I don't like it. A few months ago we were thinking about moving, and one of the things that excited me the most was having a longer commute.. Haha. This car twists your mind like that.

My girl would be VERY salty if I drove like that on a long trip.

My fiancee is pretty into it, she doesn't mind it when I drive slow. Like me, she glances at the FCD more than the speedometer. I find it relaxing myself, rather than being all rush, rush, rush. It does take some time to get into the mind set though. I didn't get my first 70MPG tank until probably 1.5 years into owning the car.

I guess it's all relative. I originally bought the car because I was a courier driver and driving 8,000 miles a month. I was pretty happy with my "paltry" 55-60MPG at that point. But I drove the car like a regular car back then.

Good job Lafter! Now let's see you do that over a whole tank. I have 620 miles on my current tank and I had a strong headwind on my way home. The tank average dropped from 70 to 69.7. I'm super bummed. I need some ice cream now. Grid charging, a clutch switch and finding 45 mph roads got me the numbers I have. This with hopefully be tank #4 with 68 plus mpg.

You still have at least 60 miles to go. You can get it above 70 again!

Plus, the FCD isn't 100% accurate.. Though it's usually the closest at 70MPG in my experience, but it could go either way once you actually fill up.

I did not make it. I blame poorly timed stop lights and heavy Friday traffic.

Once I got to flat roads and no traffic things got better.
