I also have a leaking rim story. One of my Insights' spare was not holding air so I broke it down and put liquid soap around the beads and aired it up. Still wouldn't hold air. Dunked in tub of water and checked for bead leaks and none. Looked a lot closer and found two very small leaks in the rim on the back side about 1" in from the bead. Put on a couple of dabs of super glue (on inside) and good to go. This rim looks like new, not all festered up or anything. Don't know how long the super glue will last nor can I think of anything better to use on it.
