Liters per 100 kilometers HCH1

Is there a way to change the HCH 1 FCD to l/100km instead of MPG? I think I read on this site that the Insight can do it, just wondering it the HCH 1 can too. If so, how do I do it? Will that change my odometer and trip odometers to km? It wouldn't be a problem, just wondering... No need to worry about the speedometer, as it shows both all the time anyway.
I'm interested because I'd like to see the gas I'm not using when coasting/autostopped. By the way has anyone else noticed that MPG doesn't max out right away during autostop or FAS? Why is that?

I'll check the books late tonight when I get home for metric units (got the service manuals).

And yes I've noticed that the gauge is not instant, it must be a running average of the last few seconds.
