Default Mods & All electric car mods - Isurance issues

Hi all,
anyone get an issue with their Auto Insurance when makeing major Modification like Switching to All Electric Mods?

I have a 1989 Pontiac Firefly than I now repaired sufficiently to pass a safety, and now can't seem to pass through the doors of an insurance company!

See my car here - http://www.aircraft-computational.com/electricfly/

Get in an accident and they will know. The big concern of the insurance companies is that they do not have a method to measure the quality of the work done to the vehicle. They are afraid that they will end up paying out for poorly done or dangerous vehicles with no one to pass the blame on to (they can sue Honda and often do). It’s big business set up for the masses. Go to the kit car web sites and see what they are doing for insurance. As a starter try this:

Default Insurance posability for ElectricFly

Hi - I got in touch with the car owner who bought it from the school, and he said - he simply added it to his policy - I need to follow up - as to how much he disclosed to the Insurance Co.

Found out - he uses Guaranty Company of North America and gave me the local brokers address and phone number.

And- he told me he got a max speed of about 60 - 65 Kmh and range of about 20 - 25 Km with the Surrette Batteries - new. Bit by bit - I am learning more about this car (Some good, some not so!!) Robert

My Saturn conversion is on our insurance as a 92 Saturn, nothing else mentioned, though I did inquire about a declared value policy.

That car looks ever so vaugely familiar, I was involved with the electric vehicle racing program at my High School in Phoenix from 1998-2002, I think I was at the APS Electric 500 in 98!

Default Phoenix - is the Place - to Race

And - Phoenix - is where the car - designed - converted by the students - first (prior to this one) was in a race and hit a wall (?1995?) so I am told, and funny thing - Our EV Convert in B.C. - said - he saw it crash!

My Electricfly - is the second conversion by those same students!
(Actually the Teacher did most of the first one - that they crashed - and the students did this one, That is why I am doing so much work to clean it up!)
See More of it at http://www.myelectricfly.com today!
