I also hate to see the wheel skirts gone. We all know that wheel skirts reduce the drag. I've read on here that Honda says it gives another 5 MPG in our Insights. In my opinion, the public needs to get used to the idea of wheel skirts and they need to be on all cars.

Funny isn't it wheel or fender skirts were once (in the fifties) all the rage and were an after market add on.
Check out a picture of a 57 mercury with continental kit. The skirts were about five feet long!!
I find the general side profile of this car and the prius for that matter similar to the Pontiac Aztek,so its day may still come with acceptance of this shape. Obviously the Aztec is not as refined in its style but the outline is there.

It looks like Honda mated their FCX Clarity with a Prius.

Funny, I was thinking just the same thing today as I was following a Pontiac Aztec on the freeway!

Hopefully with the cladding removed, the new Honda will more closely resemble our beloved Insights from the rear!

Bear in mind that this is intended as a global seller, to hopefully undermine the Prius sales and is probably deliberately dull & nondescript so as not to offend Mr & Mrs Average. If you want something sexier like the Insight, you will have to wait for the CRZ.
