It looks like Honda is going to have a winner with the CR-Z. It is really sporty looking, and the latest news release shows it will have fantastic fuel economy and decent acceleration. But one crucial piece of information is still missing - What is the price tag going to be?
I'm still holding out for an all-electric or plug-in hybrid of some kind. But failing that, the CR-Z would be next on my list if it is $20,000 or less.
It looks like it comes in orange. Yay! The huge negative for me is the lack of rear seats. I don't understand why other countries will get a backseat and the U.S. won't.

Oh, perhaps that's it.
Since I only have one car, I need it to have a backseat. If I had two, then a two seater would be fine.
I wish the Insight had come in orange. Actually, I wish it came in that new green color of the Accord! It is a "green" car after all. I'm perplexed at why the Prius no longer comes in green!

More and more, there is speculation on the mpg the CR-Z (OEM, not Mugen modified) will deliver. Here, they bet on 52 to 58mpg. If it is based on the Japanese EPA system, it should be nearly similar to the Insight 2, so US EPA might rate it 42-44mpg, or something like that. Will have to see official rating to confirm.
It could be a nice car, but more and more, it's not set to be the great car we were expecting at first which was either a high power (+160hp), or high FE (+70mpg) car...

At least it _will_ ba a MT (6(?) speed) !!!
Motor Trend eariler this year reported expected MPG's in the mid 30's <frown>
(Bad Honda. Bad. NO! NO!) <scolding>
And may be with it the retrurn of lean burn ! But I'm just wondering, with every other hybrids/ev popping up (Volt, Focus, Prius PHEV, etc), is it aggressive enough for a 2011 car model ?
Time will tell, but i am hoping the current mpg estimates are low. Ill have to wait for some real world reports before considering it as a replacement for my gen 1 insight. It would be nice to have those 40+ extra ponies
