I'm well aware that cycle life depends entirely on DoD.
His numbers are still worthless without context. Most LiIon batteries cycle lives aren't rated to 100% DoD. 3000 cycles sounds more like an 80% DoD to 80% nominal capacity spec, to be honest - which wouldn't mean anything in a hybrid application either.
