If you have access to a gen 1 civic and can build the tiny gizmo i detailed a few posts ago then you can capture the data in to your laptop. It just needs the commitment to the project

There is someone out there with a civic in the UK who would help i'm sure but the problem is finding them!!

I'm considering an 03 civic hybrid, and I would be more than willing to test this out/log data.

But I would need some very clear instructions on how not to murder myself with high voltage electricity.

Oops, never mind, I just saw that this is UK only.

Default UK Gen 1 Civic

I now have access to a UK gen1 Civic so am hoping for some progress over the winter/spring on the IMAC&C and OBDIIC&C for the Gen 1 Civic 's

I wonder how much of a market there might be for them?

I dunno, you're talking to the only guy who already bought one, working or not .

It'd be hard to gauge interest, as there's not really a proper Civic hybrid forum like there is for the Insight.

You might try posting to Greenhybrid's Civic subforum (probably your best bet):
Honda Civic Hybrid - GreenHybrid - Hybrid Cars

7th (ending in 05) or 8th gen (ending in 11) Civic forums (mostly people ricing their cars there):

7th Gen Honda Forum - The #1 Community for 2001-2005 Honda Civic Enthusiasts

There's even a forum for Honda Hybrids at Prius Chat (although prepare for anything you say there to be crapped on):

Honda Hybrids - PriusChat Forums

Sadly, none seem to have both the depth of knowledge and focus of fuel efficiency that this forum contains.

Sam

EDIT: Actually, it'd be nice to make a subforum for Civic hybrids... seems like most of the "Other Hybrids" subforum is this already.

Sam I'm with you on the HCH forums. I'd love an HCH forum exactly like IC (maybe on here, even though my idea was shot down by some members). It's almost impossible to find the information you want/need on HCH's in other forums. And i feel like the Civic hybrids are more similar to the first gen insight then the 2nd gen is. But i doubt we'll ever get something added here.

Peter sorry i couldn't help you record the data you need. I can't seem to find time for myself let alone another project (even though it would be fun/interesting). I'm not sure where I'll be financially for the purchase of something in the future when/if they are released, but I'm definitely interested in a system at this point. It's to bad you aren't in the states near me. My HCH was lonely all summer because I was driving the insights 99% of the time. It would have been a great opportunity, oh well.

So i guess for now we're at 2 interested parties....

Tim

Gents

I don't see any major reason why we can't have a dedicated Civic Gen 1 subforum which with some mods would also generate traffic for the website owners.

The green Hybrid Gen1 & Gen2 forums seem quite active and I have regd for that site but would prefer to keep discussions here if possible when the mods get going.

Anyway I'll try and gather some vital data over the winter when I get back from holiday from my friends Civic. That's the first step.
