US gallons. i heard of one person getting 80mpg for a trip. I haven't really tried to hard to beat that "record" but i don't see it being the hardest thing to do. maybe sometime this summer i'll give it a shot.
congrats on your purchase! So is the car a 2005 that was first registered in 2006? i'm alittle confused on how it is a 1st gen 2006.

Hi Tim,
Thanks alot, yes the car is the 2005 model but was registered Jan 2006. Gave the car a real testing of both its engine and the IMA on the way home. About 50 miles, took her up to 90 (surprisingly stable), forced the IMA to drain the batt and recharge etc and everything worked perfectly!
I think it may need a new clutch though, thankfully the place I got it from gave me 6 month warranty with the car so I may use that to replace it, as long as its not classed as something silly like 'wear & tear'.
Not used to the autostop yet... when I dont have the stereo on its rather spooky how quiet things are!
Start the journey to work tomorrow, so ill report on MPG with normal driving tomorrow and ill attempt a little bit of hypermiling techniques on tuesday and ill see what she is capable of.
Tis rather comfy, although I think it may need some firmer suspension and better wheels, some body roll in corners.
Although I am still getting used to it, so perhaps it doesnt... we shall see!
