How are you getting those numbers in a civic hybrid, when it takes hard work to get them in an insight lol.

Fun, huh? I've been learning LB in my Insight and my enthusiasm has spread to my wife so this weekend while I drove 700 miles east (80mpg), my wife drove 150 miles west in her Gen 1 HCH CVT (so no LB). SHe got 53mpg. She usually gets 42. Do you know how to translate your mileage to US?

those are some good improvements, and over such a "short" trip it's hard to get those numbers real high with the warm up time needed.
What tires/pressures are you running? i keep forgetting to look at my brand, but i'm running around 52psi in each. maybe alittle more in the front. I'm beginning to wonder if i can pull the same types of numbers with my HCH w/ LB as i can with the insight CVT since it doesnt have lean burn.

I took a canoe home one day with a great tail/cross wind and got 68.1mpg. What other car can you get 68.1mpg carrying a canoe? I'm way to scared to put the canoe on the insight, even just for a quick test.

one more question, what is the temperature when you are making your trips?

Tim

Hi Tim,

Yeah it is a short trip, this is the UK and fairly early morning around 0630, so tempurature is between 8 - 15 Degrees Celcius (or 46-59 Fahrenheit). Tyres are Pirelli P6's on all 4 corners. Ill check the pressure later.

Yeah I am impressed so far, I plan on making longer trips on motorways to see what she can pull. Yesterday morning I put £20 in the tank just after the fuel light came on (just up to half a tank, petrol here is £1.34 a litre ($2.14 / litre or $8 dollars a US gallon).

So I have Trip A doing a total over that tank fill and using Trip B to monitor individual trips. This morning was bang on 60MPG as I rolled up to the carpark at work.

My trip consists of different roads and gradients so its a good test of the car.

More info on the way.

??? Lean burn? What year and which transmission?

That is excellent, but, a BetterBattery would help.

And that's US, not imperial, so you'd see 91.75 mpg.
