Default Honda CRZ IMACAN Data Capture

I visted Nick a chap with a Honda CRZ and some enthusiasm for an IMAC&C system yesterday.

We hooked up my CANdo - CAN Bus Analyser can gizmo and manged to see some data in a brief test. Looks like CRZ IMACAN bus runs at 1mhz. We hope to do some logging and data analysis shortly. There appeared to be about 12 message (id's) flying back and forth. Now need to isolate which unit is sending which. ECM/MCM? That should be easy enough

Thanks for sharing. Any chance of getting codes for the x guages of the scan guage2?

Probably not it's not part of our plan and that data is probably on a different bus, we are only interested in IMA control at the moment.

Oh. Would the codes from any hybrid be worth trying? Ive seen some posted on the prius chat forum.

So, once you crack the code, this will allow ima control on all Hondas or ust the crz?

Certainly (CAN) CRZ and Insight2 should be OK

Trouble is I need a car to tinker with that isn't 200 miles away. So if someone would like to supply me with an I2 or CRZ then I'll put some proper effort in

As far as the Scangauge is concerned yes try other car codes by all means. The standard codes/data should be consistent between manufacturers for basic stuff like o2 sensor etc.

Looking forward to the results of this as well. I'll probably own a CRZ one day, along with a 1st gen HCH. Not sure if I'm interested in a 2nd gen Insight though.

But maybe. It would be cool to have a complete IMA lineup.

Cobb, it looks like the Scangauge folks have some info on X-gauge for CAN bus here:

X-Gauge Commands : Linear Logic - Home of the ScanGauge

I see that they can measure O2 sensor voltage. It is my understanding that that 0Volts is the mark of lean burn. Might be worth looking at their site.

Thx, I spent 3 hours in my car the other day with a space heater and 17 sheets of codes from that and other websites. The only xguage that worked was the horsepower one.

I do not have the latest version, so sending it in for an upgrade and try gain. All the guages entered were empty with no data display.

I guess its not necessary, but would be neat to see behind the scenes what is going on. For example today on my daily commute I lost 3mpg, but my soc according to the mid was 100%. 2 days ago I was averaging 73mpg, yet my soc was 60%, thats even with the phev kit going. When I got to work that day I sat for 10 minutes while it charged the IMA pack and read 100%.

I guess the warmer temp and higher SOC ment there was a thermal issue and the assist was cut back?
