Default Car sales in the UK

My week so far ..........
Monday, my dealer 'phoned me up and asked if I'd like them to buy my 05 Civic. I'd never heard of dealers doing this! He said that Honda had given them 'more money', and would I like to pop down and have a coffee and chat with him. I said yes, ( I'd nothing to loose)!
A pal at work then told me of his new car and how they'd shaved £3000 off it and given him interest free credit. So I Googled for info about car sales and it appears that here in the UK, dealers have sales levels the same as they did in 1994, which was apparently a disaster! One site claimed that dealers were making more out of quality second hand cars, as folks were reluctant to buy high value new cars. Makes sense, as the UK's on it's knees!
So I had to take this offer a bit more seriously and do a bit of research on what type of car I'd like - in case I got a good deal!
I got that good deal; next Friday, I pick up a 2010 Insight ES with a mileage of 300 for £6000 below original price. Been reading on this forum how batteries can foul up through standing for long periods! Fingers crossed ......... !!

Yes! I must admit, it was a surprise to me!
I did have the car off them originally and they do all the servicing and as it only had 39000 miles on the clock, I suppose they knew all this!
Perhaps Luke Warm Calling more than Cold Calling !

Roll on Friday !

Honda do not like forecourt stock pushing 3 years or more, so

Either,

the sales droid was one unit shy of target, target qualifies family for luxury cruise with vouchers to spend in Harrods.

Or,

he was on final written warning, and had to shift a unit or be fired the next day
