Just bought an HCH1

Finally got myself an HCH1 UK 5 speed manual with 143,000 miles.

Paid £1900 needs some tlc now and a few mods.

It's an incentive to work on the IMAC&C and the OBDIIC&C for the HCH1.
Plus I want to install a pair of my 60ah A123 blocks in it for testing.

Congratulations Peter. For all our sakes please don't get used to the extra seats, room and comfort...

When you have worked it out, I wonder if the OBDII for the HCH will match up with mine?

Have you checked the valve clearances? You possibly already have but I just thought I'd mention it as we bought an HCH1 about the same time as you but with less mileage (53K).
It had a full dealer service history and was purchased through a Honda dealer, yet they had seen fit to miss the fact that they should be done every other service! (The cam cover had never been off)
Rather than travel the 200 miles back to the dealer I did them myself they were all loose! (They sounded fine) but the proof was driving it, I gained another 9.0mpg 51mpg over a tank of fuel to 60mpg.

Wow! 9mpg is a huge jump! I bought mine with 39 on the clock. Now it has 40. Should I also get this done? How much do you reckon a garage would charge for this ?

Hi aandu, at a guess a Main dealer would charge maybe 1.0hrs labour which should be somewhere between £75 to £95 per hour obviously an independent Garage would be less
