Yeah, there is no way the mechanic is going to de-solder and re-solder the button for you.

Just have them replace the whole board, it's $25 online.. maybe they'll match the price.

YES, that is what we planned to do... HOWEVER, a guy from Louisiana I think said to work the button from the sides and all around, which seems to have done the job. NO replacement needed as it is working fine for now.
