Yikes! I hadn't checked the price of motor oil in Sweden, only the availability of 0W-20 (couldn't find any). But a check of motor oil prices online indicates that full synthetic oil costs $17 - $25 / liter in Sweden! So I'm packing 3 quarts of Mobil 1 0W-20 and a PureOne oil filter when I return in about 10 days.
That appears to be an oil that is made by an unknown source but labeled for a particular company, Ravenol. There are many similar store-branded oils in the U.S. However, I shy away from these because I don't really know much about them.

I paid about $8.50/liter at a small auto parts store in Honolulu which is probably on the expensive side for the U.S. Large discount stores like Walmart sold Mobil 1 0W-20 several years ago at somewhat lower prices, but it's no longer available in the Honolulu Walmarts. I was told that sales of 0W-20 were very slow, so Walmart chose to discontinue selling it.
I don't think many cars are designed to use 0W-20. I can't find any 0W-20 in Sweden. The Swedish Mobil 1 Website doesn't list 0W-20. The closest available is 0W-30.

It fulfills a large number of specifics, also Honda genuine oil (whatever that is ). I didn't know them before but how should I trust Motul or Fuchs which I don't know by experience? I'll do an oil test by the end of the year and see how long it performs. I don't see a big risk as the Insight engine is not high-reving. *fingers crossed*
Wow, the cost of oil in Sweden is like liquid gold! How much does a liter of petro cost?
The Swedish service stations that I'm familiar with have 3 pumps: diesel, E85, and 95-octane gasoline. So the only pure gasoline is high-octane, certainly not like buying U.S. regular. The current average price of 95-octane gasoline in Sweden is ~13 Swedish kronor / liter (~$6.90 / gallon). So I'm really happy about the fuel efficiency of my Insight

Extensive public transportation and dedicated bicycle lanes and roads reduce the need for a car for daily life in much of Sweden. But it's not so easy to venture off the beaten path without a car. However, the limited range and lack of recharging stations make EV's unsuitable for traveling at this point in time. Nevertheless, I'd love to rid myself of the mechanical complexity and maintenance of an internal combustion engine.
Art, How much driving do you need to do in a day outside of the occassional road trip?
I lived in Sweden for 6 months with a bicycle as my only vehicle. I rented a small van one day when we needed to transport to our apartment some furniture and household items that we had purchased, but that's the only driving I did for 6 months. So I certainly don't need to drive every day and frequently don't need to drive every week unless we're on a road trip. I don't drive at all between 1 December and 1 April when snow tires (usually with studs) must be mounted by law.
I'm really hoping that my grid charger/balancer will keep my battery fairly healthy
