Thanks very much for the clue.

Where is the fuse located? On the battery itself? Do you have to pull the 144V battery out to see it or to remove it for testing? I looked at the pic of his "supply" that hybrid-battery-repair posted in the other thread and could not really tell where the fuse was located. Is there a different post that has a picture of its location? Will taking an ohm reading across the fuze terminals and looking for infinite tell me it is good or bad? If it is bad, I suppose I should be expecting something else to be bad to cause it to blow (or can an erradict/random voltage surge somehow cause this or perhaps just a defective fuse that decided to give up?).

By the way I am working a 03 HCH, not an Insight in case they have the fuse in a different location.

Thanks again. I'll go looking tomorrow (or should I say today...way past my bedtime)

i got this method because i have an odyssey.
there is a plug underneath the dash LHS for UK cars with black and brown wire...it goes into a socket with no wire pull this one out and shortcircuit those two and presto : you can count all your faulty codes. works for me i just tested it. i am now fighting a P1449 (7 8 ) with a CEL 69...

this thread link doesnt make it easier for me any more thoughts?

Can you elaborate on this do you mean the obdII plug?
The SCS (brown) wire is not connected at the obdii plug on any of my UK supplied cars.
Can you post a pic of this socket if it is not the obdii port.
Is your car an import?

Peter,
its not an import as far as i know, go to your insight...there is a small "2cm blue" plug with brown and black wire going into a secure socket of plastic also blue. just pull it out. i believe all hondas have it. you just have to know it.

Its NOT on the ODBII port....its under your glove compartment box.

it looks similar to this one:

Cel honda shortcircuit image by GhostAccord on Photobucket

or :
http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=CEL...w=1024&bih=608

use a wire to connect those two ends.

and here you go no need for switches etc...i was wondering why noone knew about it on this forum...

now i need help for my 1449 ( 7 8 ) >.<

FYI i got another car a honda "odyssey"

I dont know why I didnt think of this before aswell. My OBD2 Integra SiR-G had the same thing, paperclip as a jumper to read DTCs.

With the adjustable dissy on those engines it was also a method to revert the ignition to its base timing so you could use a strobe to set timing against the BTDC on teh crank pulley
