A month ago I was driving in hot weather ac cranked, and the IMA light came on half way through a 50 mile drive. I then noticed one of my flexible camera bags had slid between the seat and the door on the passengers side blocking the fan port which would be near the passengers elbow.
I removed it and kept driving. Later I pulled the codes and none were battery related. I continued to drive the car and noticed that despite having an IMA light it would start/stop and would often show full, and assist for 10 seconds then show empty.
Work got busy and I only took short commutes every few days to get coffee, until finally today I decided to do something about it.
I reset the IMA by pulling the fuse and then set off to my shop where I could dive into things deeper. The IMA light came on immediately after pulling the fuse, and the car clicked before it started cranking with the traditional starter, as it no longer showed any bars of power, performed and assist, or any stop/start after the fuse pull reset.
After arriving at the shop the and taking a look under the hood, I noticed the bell housing ground strap was completely broken, and the other ground strap had been poorly repaired by the previous owner. I soldered up some new ground straps, mounted them and tried again.
I pulled the fuse and the ima light comes on roughly 1 second after start, and it comes on with a slight click sound coming from the rear of the car. It sounds like a breaker click to me.
What are your computer codes, also please add where you are located at to your signiture.
What fuse are you pulling? I've always seen it regen for awhile before the IMA light coming back on. I normally pull the negative battery cable for about 10 seconds.
Recheck the condition of the 12V battery. Bad grounds can cause the battery to not get a full charge.........
I'm like GG, I always pull the ground off the 12v battery for a recal.

Ok so here is what I found. The code is p1568, and the AC is not working, but I have driven it 70+ miles without charging the 12v battery... is there something I am missing? Should the car be running with no IMA battery?
So there are two codes that match P1568:
P1568 Battery Module Individual Voltage Input Problem
P1568 Battery Module Temperature Signal Circuit Problem
The fact that this all started when the air intake was blocked makes me believe it is tempurature related. Also, you said you've gone 70 miles so far, is the red battery light one, if not then it is charging the 12V with no issues.
Try pulling the neg battery cable and reseting the system that way and see if the IMA light comes back within a second again, if it does you have a hard failure of some kind at a board or component level.

I reset with a battery pull, it comes back on within seconds. The AC does not work, and the battery light comes on when your over 3500rpm, then comes back off?
Any ideas? Yes I have read all the threads with this same diagnosis, but many have not been updated in years, most people once they solve there problem don't go to the forums and explain in detail how or what solved the problem.
So there are two codes that match P1568:
P1568 Battery Module Individual Voltage Input Problem
P1568 Battery Module Temperature Signal Circuit Problem
Three codes:
P1568-66 Battery Module Individual Voltage Input Problem - problem with the orange/grey cable
P1568-67 Battery Module Temperature Signal Circuit Problem - problem with the four thermistors
P1568-70 Battery Cell Temperature Signal Circuit Problem - problem with the PTC circuit
If it's a temp circuit problem, then it's fixable. If not, it MAY be a cell problem or the wire.
Email me for the test scripts.
