Default Uh oh! Car will not start...any ideas?

I was replacing the main window switch, but the driver window still would not operate with the new switch. I attempted to troubleshoot the switch with an unfamiliar volt meter and blew a 20 Amp fuse (driver window #10). Yes, I let out a small amount of smoke.
Replaced fuse, window still doesn,t work.
It got much worse.
Trying to connect positive 12 v battery cable, I touched the ratchet to the body a couple of times.
When I put everything back together, and tried to start, dash lights barely flicker.
12 v battery is reading 12.5 volts after charging for 20 minutes...but dash lights just flicker.
All underhood and underdash fuses are ok. Unsure of relays or cuses in the back. Ground cables are good.
What else should I check?
Also, I am having a cerebral flatus and can,t remember. Can the I1 be push started?
Im stuck, dealer closed.

Yes, the Insight can be push started if it's a manual, but I suspect you aren't going to get very far with that if the dash won't even light up.

If all the fuses really look good.. I have no idea. Could it be that your 12V battery is just that low?

Try turning the ignition on, and then read the voltage at the battery terminals?

Thanks Eli, it was the 12 v battery. SOC was reading zero bars, when it fired right up with the new 12 v. Then in a minute or two of the car idling it was reading 20 bars. Im guessing the BCM thought it was empty and was defaulting to the 12v to start via the 12v starter but tbere was not enough amps despite being at 12.5 volts.

My left window still not working AND I have an SRS light glowing on the dash.

At least I,m mobile though.

You basically performed a reset. The BCM defaults to "empty" when powered up. When you start the car, it will do a background charge to try and determine where it's at. So yes, your experience is completely normal.

I guess it was as good of a time as any to spend $110 on a battery.

Any ideas about the SRS light? I did have the steering wheel off but I plugged the airbag back in.
