Default Japanese import CVT in UK

Dear all,

I recently took my Insight to Honda for a service which was nice and cheap but they said I needed to replace the rear engine mount. I said OK and they then came back and said Honda are no longer making parts for the Insight and sent me on my way!!!??!! Clunk clunk rattle bang. Well more in reverse really.....

Two questions I guess. Anyone know where I can get a CVT rear engine mount in the UK? and has Honda stopped making parts?

any help would be much appreciated.

I am sorry about the motor mount, but I did see some modifications/repairs that are done using some kind of sealer to fill up the spaces in the mount.

On another tack, is your car one of the legendary CVTs that has lean burn? I was reading a thread recently that mentioned they thought the Japanese versions had it.

Thanks,
Tim Glover

Order a new one mounting/bush from a US Honda supplier and get it shipped over.

You won't be able to get one in the UK for a CVT. Unless it is the same as the manual cars? Anyone know? If it is the same as the manual cars then just order one for that.

You're best off just buying a new mount. Filling it causes even more vibrations. Though, filling does give you great shifts. A new mount gives you stock shifts and no vibrations.
