Default where is the OBDII port located??

I feel silly for asking this but....
My check engine light went on for the first time today and I took it to autozone to get checked. I couldn't find where they plug their computer in...
where the heck is it? i looked everywhere lol. All my other cars are easy to find.
Thanks

Check near the front of the center console on the passenger's side...must be a right hand drive left-over. Most are easier to find...

Here's a close up image [ click] with a ScanGauge plugged into the OBDII connector located on my 2000 manual transmission car. The 2001 mt Insight is said same.
CVT transmission vehicles OBDII is located on the left side if i read correctly.

If I remember right. The 2000 and early 2001 OBD port was located on the passenger side behind the center console. Later models were on the drivers side, behind the center console. FEDS mandated that it had to be within 24" of the steering wheel.

So mechanics could find it and not have to ask forum members where is is.

I had a really hard time finding one on a Nissan I was thinking about buying. In Santa Fe. I finally found it and it needed a cat so I didn't buy it. Somebody had disabled the CEL, so my scanner saved me.

Eli.
Who knows why the FEDS come up with their requirements. (Just to justify their job?)
It's kind of like "if the engineers had to work on the vehicles, they would design them different or better." (in my opinion,)
