Default Can a bad o2 sensor makes car bucking?

My car is now bucking under 2000rpm. It is not jerking. It feel like there is no power, and it use a lot of assist. The problem is intermittent.

I have cleaned the EGR plate.
New gasket everywhere
I have tried 2 different EGR valves (pot cleaned)

Could it be a coil pack? I don't think so because I have no misefire and the problem is intermittent.

No codes on the ECU.

They only thing I could think is a bad o2 sensor, but when il log it it is around .5v

Can we use the NTK 24301 or not? after reading all post about o2 sensor, it is very confusing. Some says it worked, some other not.

Disconnect the egr and go for a decent drive, does the jerking go away?

If it does then replace it with a new one!

You will get a code but ignore /clear it later.

Simples.

Good idea. Will try this tonight.

Also, it seems that when I reset the ECU, it is running fine for a couple of days.

Disconnecting the EGR valve as Peter says is a good test for that.

If it's not EGR system related, then it's most likely fuel injector or coilpack related. Bad O2 won't cause bucking, but it will cause reduced fuel economy due to the ECM being in fault loop mode.

Both my Insight and my wife's Fit that had a bad coil pack didn't trigger the cylinder misfire code. So that doesn't rule it out.

Was this creating the same problem I am having?

I did the test. It's like a new car. It's funny, it run better than when I install a brand new egr 3 years ago. Now I can get the lean mode very easy, and it stays for longer.

Another weird thing, I drove 20 km in city and 20 km on highway, but no check engine. Why??

I will recheck the sensors grounds on the engine.

I don't understand why it is working fine disconnected. This valve is not supposed to open only occasionaly?

Thanks for your idea. I was about to buy a new LAF and coils.

Hmm. I was under the impression that lean burn wasn't possible without the EGR valve working properly.

But that solves that, sounds like you need a new EGR. How many miles did you put on in those 3 years? Seems like they usually last longer than that.

I drove 100km and I got the Check engine. As soon I got it, it start bucking like crazy, worst than with egr connected. I think I will order a new valve anyway. Well see after. I will also swap coil pack with my spare.
