289,000 mile 02 CVT w/ P1457

Hi,

My 2002 Insight has 289,000 miles on it and just threw a P1457. The weather here just got cold, fyi.

I've had the car for a couple years now with zero problems.

My question is with that many miles is it worth chasing this problem down or should I save my money for a full swap or fix it and sell the car and buy a lower mileage Insight?

This is usually not to bad to fix, gas cap, broken fitting in the EVAP system maybe. Also that it happened when it got cold, I've seen the same type of thing on my Focus, once it warmed up the CEL light went out.

Absolutely do not junk the car because of a P1457, LOL. Just getting broken in at 289k miles.

It's probably just your gas cap. Make sure it's clicked at least 3 times.
