Default CEL not working

Hi all,

Well, to show just how perceptive I can be, I've noticed recently that the Check Engine Light doesn't illuminate when turning the key on.

Is it an incandescent lamp?

How difficult is it to get to?

I have connected my scanner and confirmed that there aren't any codes, but I do like for all the goodies to work. So, I can be OCD as well as absent-minded.

It's burned out in #2 also. Annoying. I don't think it's too hard to take the dash cluster out, I'm not going to bother though. I just check codes now and again.

Go to this thread, post #14:
Trip button doesn't work

Also a few extra things I would add is disconnect the 12V before doing any of this, also on step #3 pull the vains straight out to the far right of the center vents to access the screw to the panel.
