Default IMA was on but now off

My IMA was on for a bit and batterys were said to be rusting by honda dealer and would die soon. I did a battery reset after a month of no driving and drove all day today and battery's were working fine? Are they going to go out soon again?

Rusting huh? lol

Letting the car sit for a month pretty much assures that it's only a matter of time before the IMA light comes on again. You can keep doing the reset until the IMA light comes back immediately.

Resetting the systems over and over again may buy you some more time.

Pull the 12V cable, replace it, start the car, let it charge, when the battery goes full turn it off, wait 5 minutes and repeat.

Well it seems the battery is working fine now. It has almost a full charge. I was thinking of selling this car but I think I might just keep it after seeing what people are doing on the forums and how they are fixing the issues themselves.

The charge meter on the dash means absolutely nothing in this context.

The IMA light will come back after the next negative recal.

P1447 or P1449 will be the battery code.

Also verify that your 12V battery is OK. Not just a voltage test, but a load test will be sufficient.

Default Rusting

In the post, the batteries are described as "rusting", does that mean corrosion is taking effect on the end connections of one or more battery sticks?

That may due to leakage of the chemical electrolyte, early 1999/2000 Toyota Prius vehicles suffered this affliction, the same Panasonic D-cell sticks were in the earliest Toyota Echo derived Prius and Honda Insight. Toyota switched over to Prism cells for later builds
